In this paper: This study systematically examined the correlates of Schwartz’s basic values with the broad and narrow traits of the HEXACO model of personality. Personality traits and personal values both represent broad constructs used to characterize fundamental individual differences. Whereas a person’s personality represents their pattern of behaviors, thoughts and emotions (McCrae & Costa, 1987), a person’s values represent broad evaluative judgments about what is good or important in life.
