There’s a lot of talk about toxic employees, toxic workplaces and toxic behaviours, but how common really are they?
We studied the incidence of negative interpersonal behaviours, including rudeness, snubbing and ignoring others, and found some interesting results.
We also looked at the differences between males and females, across different age levels, and found that men engaged in counterproductive behaviours more often than women.
So it would seem that toxic behaviours are happening much more often in the workplace than we realise, which needs to be allowed for in any human resources strategy.
