A man in an office behaving badly towards another employee.

Why is it so destructive to hire a psychopath at work?

The key issue is the disruptive and destructive activities that they engage in in the workplace – called counterproductive work behaviours or CWBs.

Employees will – surprisingly – confess to engaging in a wide range of bad behaviours, which can be assessed via integrity testing.

There are two main categories of negative workplace behaviours – interpersonal and organisational – and their effect on culture and productivity is huge, so it’s best to avoid hiring them in the first place.
